Huye Mountain – Cyarumbo, Rwanda
A complex, sweet coffee which particularly suits filter brewing. Notes of caramel, grapefruit, lemongrass, and vanilla.
Grown by small-holders in the Huye Mountain region of Rwanda, made famous by the documentary ‘A film about coffee’. Here the typical coffee farmer has just 200 trees producing only 2 sacks of coffee which are then taken to the Huye Mountain mill owned by David Rubanzango, a philanthropist who has helped the coffee growers in this region increase the quality of their coffee and the price fetched for it. Coffee from this region regularly places highly in the Cup of Excellence thanks to its sweet, complex flavour.
