A distinctive tasting coffee with a richer, fuller-bodied taste than is typical of Rwandan coffee with a sweet, sharp rhubarb and blood orange upfront, and dark chocolate and brown sugar to finish.
Established in 2013 and already placing highly in the Cup of Excellence, the Simbi Washing Station is fast growing a reputation for outstanding speciality coffees. All of the coffee processed here are grown by nearly 1,500 small scale farmers in the surrounding area of the Huye district.
Simbi is owned by Abdul Rudahunga who was inspired to get in to the coffee business by his grandmother who was a coffee farmer and was one of few farmers at the time to roast and drink her own coffee daily.
